The Hoy No Circula program will be applied routinely this Wednesday, May 7, in the 18 municipalities of the State of Mexico and the 16 boroughs of Mexico City, as the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAMe) has not declared an environmental contingency. The restriction applies to vehicles with red stickers, holograms 1 or 2, and license plates ending in 3 and 4, from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
The decision not to implement a double Hoy No Circula is due to the air quality being categorized as 'acceptable' on Tuesday, April 29, without any announcements of an environmental contingency by CAMe. This program is applied only in case of contingencies with the aim of reducing pollution.
Vehicles that will be able to circulate this Wednesday include electric cars, hybrids, those with an ecological registration or exempt hologram type, as well as those with holograms "00" or "0". Vehicles from the health sector, school transport, funeral processions, funeral services, persons with disabilities with a Permit to exempt from Hoy No Circula, public passenger service vehicles and tourism, motorcycles with a valid Tourist Pass, and vehicles with pink, blue, yellow, and green stickers are also exempt.
